Engine Stuttered and Stalling
This is my 1st post, I have an 04 f250 6.0 24,000 miles and started having trouble with the engine, stutteing and stalling, when I start to accelerate, and when its idleing it wants to quit, and has once. yesterday I was driving about 35 and it starting stuttering and it just quit. had to stop and it restarted and limped it home. I was afraid to drive it to the dealer so it went this AM on the flatbed. Anyone had similar problems with the 6.0 or know of anyone who has, the truck has had regular maintence at a Ford dealer, and fuel filters were change at 18,000

sounds like it could be a bad CPS (camshaft position sensor). they tend to not give any warning when they fail, just all of a sudden they are bad. they arent too bad to change though. one easy way to see if it is bad is to crank it over see if your tach is working since it gets its input from the CPS as well. ford is rather proud of them and charge a bit, but you can get the at other places like NAPA. goodluck !
