Install the single downstream sensor somewhere downstream of the upstream one(s). The X pipe is as good a place as any.

You will need a MIL eliminator to fool the PCM into thinking you have a cat installed and working.

k did some searching i know what the eliminator is now. and i have also read lots of people that try to use them have nothing but problems (dont work) sure wish if someone had one laying around they`ed hook up an ohm meter to one to find out what resistor or cap is under the shrink wrap cant see spending $30 on a 10 cent resister that you can buy at radio shack. i also read somewhere that on mustangs you can turn the rear sensor off with a programmer and the it aslo makes it run a little better. can that be done with a 96 ford truck or van ecm also?? (96-97)

Google "make your own mil eliminator"

1 meg resistor, 1 uf cap, and some heatshrink. Less than a buck and some time. Simple RC integrator.

Programmers may have that capability. Check with the dealer/vendor.
