My friend has a 240 engine in his '67 F100 is that stock?

It could be, the 240 CID 150 HP Six was the base engine.

What is the Truck's VIN? We also need the engine casting codes and the "stamped-in" date code, found on the block by the starter and the water pump, respectively. Post it back and we'll take a look.

240?

If it's stock then a 240 would be correct. The 240 is the predecessor to the 300.

Actually, neither preceded the other. Both introduced in 1965. The 240 was the standard engine as Barry indicated, 300 was an option. The 240 was discontinued in 1972 in favor of the more popular 300.

I talked to my friend last night and he said he looked at the vin number and found out that it was original. Thanks for the info.
