Very strange. Cummins was bragging about 180k units shipped to chrysler in 04. Also Ford sent numbers to the nhtsa that doesnt jive with those totals. They claimed they sold 227k units in 04. I wonder why the discrepencies. Got chryslers numbers for 03 also and they were just shy of 150k units again according to cummins. Any idea why these numbers dont jive? Is it possible that wards is mistaken?

Logical, could it possibly be that the Cummins went into a chrysler product that wasn't a light truck? Maybe 1-1/2 ton, 2 ton trucks? I'm just guessing.

The Cummins numbers could appear overstated if that chart only shows vehicles registered in the USA.

Ward's is using production, not registration numbers.

I cant recall seeing cummins in any other chrysler product. Daimler has its own engines in other than U.S. apps that it can use.
Doesnt really explain the difference for fords numbers very well. Ford said 227k in a letter pertaining to an investigation of a possible mandated recall of ford trucks due to stalling issues causing injuries and perhaps fatalities. That was a run on sentence. I cant see ford fudging numbers to the nhtsa when they are under investigation.
