But Chilton's doesn't say...
I've got a 67 F100 Camper Special that I'm replacing the master cylinder on... To get the push rod out of the old one (the new one didn't come with one) do I have to remove the spring clip that holds that stop plate in?

[font size="1" color="#FF0000"]LAST EDITED ON 22-Jun-01 AT 05:10 PM (EST)[/font][p]Your new master cylinder should have come with a separate pushrod. Once installed they are a bear to remove. The end of the rod has an expandable ring that locks in place with a circular groove inside the bore of the piston (whatever it’s called). If you remove the spring clip, the rod and piston will just come out of the MC as a unit. If you can’t get a new rod, try pulling out the old rod with lots of elbow grease, it will eventually pop out and you’ll fall over backwards.
