Need Some Help
am looking at buying an 2003 f250 xlt fx4 v10 with 78,000 miles on it. Guy said he pulled an horse trailer with a 5th wheel hitch with it a couple times in the fall and spring. Said it weights about 6k, does that sound about right??, said it was a four horse trailer. Also said he pulled a littler trailer with the normal hitch more offen. Everybody in my family thinks that it has to many miles on it for an 03 and that it pulled a 6k trailer with it. But that is what these trucks are made for right?
. Drove it, rides and sounds good expect for one thing, that it makes like a hissing sound in the front right, think it is the bearings? What do you guys think? Is about 6k right for a four horse trailer.

Hard to figure out what a noise is online. If you like the truck have someone knowledgeable take a look at it. Maybe a dealer go over it..You should do that with any used rig. Bearings usually don't hiss. The seals behind the bearings can sound like that. Check to see if the front axles turn when in 2wd. Does it have ESOF?
