Rotor replacement...

Hey everyone,
I need to replace my rotors (warped) on a 1988 F-150 with a 1982 front axle (Dana 44 IFS).

1) Are the rotors\hubs one assembly, or can the rotor itself be seperated from the hub?

2) If the rotors are warped, can they just be turned instead of replaced?

3) If I wanted to upgrade to a slotted or drilled rotor, where can you buy them for an 82?

Thanks for the help!

The rotor can be seperated from the hub by knocking the wheel lugs out then tapping the rotor off the hub. Sometimes a warped rotor can be turned but most likely they will need replaced. As far as the slotted rotors I know summit carries them.

I have a 95 bronc 4x4 that I replaced the hubs and brakes on the dana 44 ifs. I baught the rotor and hub as an assembly with bearing races pressed in from discount auto (WebEpc) raybestos PG (professional grade) non slotted and bendix ceramic pads from advanced auto and I love that set up so far. I guess You can call me lazy. I have done bearing races before and they are a pita. This thing stops better and does not pull to one side anymore and no shimming. As far as less dust not sure due to mud all over from hunting. Haven't cleaned it due to other work I did on it after it broke down. Hope this helps. Do not order ceramic pads on line cause there is a good chance they will break in shipping. Mine did and had to send back for a refund. If going that far might as well do bearings and seals also .02$ worth.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the advice...From what I have read so far, slotted rotors don't really make that much of a difference in daily driving, so I'll probably pass on that. I just repacked the bearings not long ago, but yeah, might as well replace them while I'm at it.
