Got another E4Od question
Hey all! I hate to beat a dead horse, but I was wondering what you all recommend for tranny upgraes without having to do a full rebuild. I realize a good converter is inorder, but my concern is with the vast assortment of shift improver kits, like transgo. Also, there are many different sonnax valves out there and I really dont know which ones usually need replacing. I have a 97 with 59k on it, and I am looking into stage one's. I already have an open air intake, banks downpipe and turbo housing,well, basically I have the stinger plus kit, including the stupid trans command, and 4"exhaust. I don't want to destroy my tranny. Any advice? Oh yeah, it would be nice to hook up to the sled every once in a blue moon.

It's not that I am not happy with it, but I don't think it's gonna keep me from grenading the tranny if I add any hp mods. I thnk that's the way all the banks stuff is. It's good, but a little overpriced and not as efficient as some stuff that's a lot cheaper. Especially their chips, my ottomind doesn't do a whole lot. But I don't think Banks is focusing on our OBS truck as much as when they came out either.

I have the banks on one of my trucks and I am happy with it. I also have one in still in the box if anyone needs it. With the way I have the trans done I don't need it.
With my trucks I have everything replaced with heavy duty parts. The tc is from precission industries. Talk to Jack - 800-649-7866. Replace the planet gears, add more and change the ring to steel. Do the valves and springs. Also look at - www.freewaytransmissions.com - and look at their "ESE". It works great. I have it in all the trucks. You need a good cooler and you need gauges if you don't have them already. I also run synthetic fluid.
