I have a 94 B3000 and i want to pull the manual tranny out and put an automatic in, idk about all the electrical stuff involved in the newer transmissions but do they have the vacuum modulated transmissions that will bolt up to the 3.0 block????? if so what kind of vehicles can i look to get a tranny out of?

 

You're in luck.

All pre-95 Ranger platform vehicles used vacuum operated trannies.

You need one from a 3.slow Ranger/B-truck unless the A4LD behind a 2.3L or 4.0L swaps bellhousings, then you can use those as well.

Not much for electronics. Wire up the reverse light switch and little else outisde of physical install, I presume.

 

Electronics will be easy, you'll just have to hook up a few things. I believe the 3.slow and 4.0L have the same bolt mount pattern.

 

so you can hook up an electronic AT on a truck that came with manual tranny????

 

also is the bolt pattern the same on the end of the crankshaft for the flywheel on the 3.0 and 4.0????

 

hey, while we are on topic. (i dont mean to really steal the thread or anything). is it possible to swap a manual tranny into an 03 4.0 sohc ranger fx4 with an automatic from the factory??
