460 CONVERSION; CLUTCH SETUP
I'm putting in a 460 in place of my tired ol 400. I'm planning to make a spacer and use the 400 bellhousing. The 460 flywheel that I bought had a diaphram style style cluth on it. My bellhousing is has a long style clutch, which leads to my question. Is the bolt pattern for a long style clutch the same as the diaphram cluth? I am assuming that I can't use the diaphram style clutch in my current bellhousing. If anyone has some info for me please give me a buzz. I want to get as many issues resolved as possible before I start the conversion.

The bolt patterns on the two pressure plates are different. You should be able to use the diapham clutch with your bellhousing.When you have the opposite situation is when you have trouble,as the long style is longer than the diaphram style.
