I haven’t lived in Utah for years but I can remember several trails that punished my old Fords when I was a kid. Pole Canyon, Back side of Strawberry Reservoir and out through Diamond Fork and down Spanish Fork Canyon, if you go all the way up Santiquin Canyon past Pole Canyon you can find back roads 4x4 passable over into Payson Canyon and from there over into Emery County, Goshen Canyon over into Mona, and there is always the west deserts (of course that is Juab County but still close) Eureka, Silver City, Mammoth, Tintic, Every thing from Eureka to Delta and beyond and from Eureka back the other way through Vernon and on to Tooele is great off roading. I once found a path (you couldn’t call it a road) from Ophir (near Tooele) Cenicot and then down trough Rose Canyon near Herriman and Bluffdale, you can take the old Pony Express Trail all the way from Vernon to Elko Nevad.
I sure miss Home.

Hey OldSHO; I am to new a member evidently to send you an e-mail but I wanted to say I have searched for that book for several years. It is funny you mention it here. You called it some dreams must die I remember it being some dreams die. Anyway I am sure it is the same book. If I remember correctly it had a picture of Harrison Fort on the cover, one of my favorite stories was something about gold bars from a robbery being sunk in the swamp out near the old Rockwell place. I ranched out there as a young man and always tried to figure out exactly were that was. If you find another copy of the book please let me know.
