I want to put a 460 engine from a 75 licoln into my 68 ford F 250
4x4, that has 4 speed tranny and 360 in it now. I know that the right bell housing for the conversion is from 400 are 351m, and Ive been told that the fly wheel from the 360 will work, But what else has to be done , the depth of the 400 bellhousing is 6 1/4 inches the depth of the 360 belle housing seems to be around 7, what do you do to make up the diffrence as fare as clutch throw and such. Iwas told that on the inside that there is actually 1/4 inch diffrence to make up for, and that this can be achieved by taking 1/4 inch off the bushing that goes into the end of the crank, others say it can only be done with a adapter plate . Can some one set me right. thank you

You have a 400 bellhousing that was made for a diaphram style pressure plate.I did a swap using one of these and found a simple solution.I drilled and tapped a 360 flywheel to take a 400 diaphram clutch and make sure your flywheel isn't much thicker than a 400 flywheel or it will need to be machined as well.Mine worked great.Plus you have a 12" clutch.
