My Roto-zip seems to be spitting out "schrapnel" from the motor. It makes an awful grinding noise and I swear the motor is starting to disintigrate. I always try to use safty glasses, but this made much more aware of the dangers of power tools. Anyone else have one of these go bad ?
Is it an original RotoZip before Bosch bought them.(will not have Bosch written on tool)
I wonder if it is the cooling fan grinding due to the bearings near the tip going bad.
call RotoZip on the phone: http://www.rotozip.com/
Tell them your looking for parts, they may offer you a factory reconditoned one cheap.

Thanks Crash, I don't normally like the idea of "Shaking down" a company for replacements, but this condition seems rather dangerous and the tool has gotten very little use over the years and was not abused. It is definatly not a Bosh.
Make sure when drilling or grinding, while you are using the tool, that you
always put it back in the case. Small grinding dust can get in the tool if you
lay it down near where you are working, it can happen real easy!
