Keyless entry?

My 2000 F350SD XLT has power door locks but no keyless remote came with the truck when I bought it. Do I just need the remote to make them work? Or is there a whole set-up that is required?

My '03 had power locks so I had an after market alarm system installed to get keyless entry.

I think you'll need the whole "set-up". I think it may be easier and cheaper to go aftermarket. You'll probably be able to get a remote start, alarm w/ keyless entry for less than the Ford parts.

You have to have the ford security package in order to get the Ford remote entry. This came a while back and I have personally been through it. The cost is way too high when comparing to a aftermarket system!
