idle issues...
Hey List,
my 92 f150 302 5spd is givin me problems.....
it used to run rich and and have a heavy loping idle (although no stalling)
i ran codes..said coolant sensor..etc...so i looked..coolant sensor was toast......
replaced and fixed....
now though,,, the idle is all over the map....at start hits 2000..and drops really slowly....then drops to 1000 or so..and stays for a few minutes..then from either inside the dash or under the hood, i can hear a distinct "click" and the idle goes to hell..starts loping and if you dont hit the gas...itll stall....once you rev it up a little, the cyclke is repeated......
the check engine light used to be on all the time.....now it comes on only after 7 or 8 minutes of driving.....
only other thing ive noticed..is that now the idle doesnt drop immidiatly after letting off the gas...feels like its kind of still driving itself....(l;ike an automatic in drive) but its a 5 spd....
any ideas?
should i reset the computer (im assuming by disconnecting cables..?)
i need too gget back to my friends who has the code checker...but i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas...
very recent tuneup...iac was cleaned out etc....
