sounds like you've come to a good decision. You may want to throw in ESOF so the lady won't have to go out and manually lock the hubs. good luck

Same truck with FX4, Pwr Driver's Seat, Privacy, Advanced Security Group, Bright Cab Steps

MSRP $43670, net at $36281
I priced it as a 4x4, but where did the other options (ESOF, skid plates, camper pkg, reverse sensing, hitch, towcommand, etc...) come from? I quote prices based just on what people ask for.

Jeff,

I believe from some of FE powers earlier posts that he wants ESOF, also i would give him a price option on the Tow Command and Upfitter switches (even though he didn't ask) since he is going to be towing with this.

I would also recommend the Trailer Towing mirrors since they will be towing with it.

Ah- he mentioned a few other items a little further up in the thread.... and I was looking at grounded inventory. The cheapest XLT was $42 and change- that's why I asked.

Okay, with TowCommand, hitch, limited-slip, running boards, skid plates, all-weather mats, ESOF, and stabilizer package (all in addition to the other items already quoted), the MSRP is $42350, and my price is $34980.

I have no experience with the tow command system so I was going to install my Prodigy brake controller. Refresh my memory, what's ESOF? Also I thought skid plates, and limited slip were standard. I apologize about the confusion.

ESOF electronic shift on the fly. changing from 2wd to 4wd high without stopping. Skid plates are part of a package deal but you are better off getting them separate. and limited slip isnt standard I wish it was.

Even with ESOF won't she have to get out and lock the hubs? I can shift the NP205 in my 76 into 4high up to 30mph and without the hubs locked all I do is spin the front driveshaft.

Another thing, these come standard with a reciever hitch correct? Or is it only a bumper hitch? Also all the ones we looked at had the big telescoping mirrors with the convex lens on the bottom. If those are standard then they're fine and we won't need any other mirrors.

ESOF includes a combination auto/manual locking hub. You can set it for auto, or set it so it's locked in all the time, your choice (things have changed a bit since 1976). And trust us on the Tow Command: the factory brake controller is the best thing since sliced bread! Incredibly-smooth operation, and get this: when the ABS kicks in on the truck, it sends an ABS signal to your trailer brakes!

I don't think my trailers electric brakes have ABS. How adjustable is the controller? Is it one of those things where I get to choose the settings or will it continually over ride me until I yank it out of the truck? What's the rear end on the F-250? Is it a Dana 60 or a Dana 70? Is the t-case chain driven or gear driven? Aluminum or cast iron? What's the longest warranty I can get? Thanks for all the help so far guys.

Polar Bear, 1956 MarkII,
If I ordered the truck through one of you guys could it be here before Christmas?

pushing the limits there- yikes! Out of stock could be a possibility. I'd check with fordvehicles.com on the tow command specs, but yes they are adjustable. Those mirros come as part of the package.

re: transfer case. Beats the crud outta me- I've never seen one apart- which tells a huge story in itself.

Axles are Dana 60's.

Warranties- another thing to check on Ford's websites. there are a variety of warranties available, and i almost think that choice takes longer than picking out the truck.
