Weird Lighting Problems?

Help Please?

1990 Aerostar:

When I turn on my headlights, the radio light and shift indicator lights go out?
When I turn on the parking lights, they do not work?
The brake lights work, but not not running brake lamps?
The Rheostat does not change the cluster light level any more?

What does it all mean?

Frustrated.

When you pull your headlight switch it will be all melted, that is what it means.

Common issue with Aeros. They run the full amps through the switch which over time tends to melt the wires and connections. Replace the switch, wires, and if you are decent with electrical, wire in a relay to reduce the heat generated at the switch.
Good Luck!

BTW Welcome!

Nice to know this site has some great answers. I had no clue where to start. I will begin and get started on the switch.

Many Thanks!
