i have a 351w 82 f-250, i'm getting high blowby from the valve covers, oil buildup in the valleys of the intake manifold and i'm getting about 2000 hc for emissions, and it sounds like the valves are knocking. can anyone help for this problem
I would run a compression check and if that is good ( doubt it) then would do a visual for a broken valve spring. Sounds like a valve is stuck open or else your seats/valves are worn bad.
That is all I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe a PCV but it shouldn't be that bad. Sure sounds like a valve issue to me. If you are mechanically inclined, you might be able to just lap the valves and seats to get you by if money is an issue. I have done wonders on old classic motors where parts are hard to come by just by sitting watching TV with my drill, some compound and lapping for a few hours. It all depends on how bad they are.
