Can someone tell me if these are related?
1991 f150 4.9l inline six 2wd

Driving down the road the other day and my ac stopped blowing. Got to my stop and could not get the key out of the ignition. Finally, after a little work, got the key out. Now truck won't start, ac won't blow and i don't know what the problem is. Replaced the tfi module and the solenoid(saw smoke) and a battery cable. Checked the inertia switch(I can see red, is this bad?) Thinking it might be a relay, but don't know how to replace them(I can find them just don't know how to get them off).

Any suggestions?

 

Sounds like the Ignition Switch is toast.

 

Would that make the ac not work?

The Ignition Switch is near the bottom of you Steering Column, unplug it and see if it is not a little burned.

 

Followed the haynes repair manual and pulled the ingniton switch. But I am not sure it is the same thing you are talking about. Is it the actual tumbler the key goes in or is it something else?

The tumbler is not the Ignition Switch, there is a rod that goes from the tumbler down the Steering Column to the Ignition Switch. You would more then likely have to lay your Steering Column on the seat to take the Ignition Switch off. But I just though that if you unplugged it (if you can unplug it as sometimes it is melted to the plug), you could tell if it was toast.
