Which fluids?

I recently bought a 1989 F-250 and would like to change the differential, transmission, and transfer case fluids but don't have an owner's manual. (can anyone help me with that?) I did get a service manual (Chilton's) with the truck, but it isn't helpful at all. I need to know the recommended viscosity, type, and quantities of fluids needed. I'd like to use synthetics too. Any problem with that idea?
Thanks for any help.

Here is what I know. I have a 1987 6.9 4x4. I just had to change out the bellhousing and changed the fluids in the tranny and transfer while I was at it. The tranny I have is a T-19 4 speed with a granny gear. I wanted to put good fluid in but the store didnt have it so I used valvoline 80W gear oil. I was going to use Lucas Oil 80W. I cannot recall my fluis caps but I found it out in the Haynes Manual. The transfer I used regular mercon tranny fluid. I am at college right now so I dont have my books with me. best of luck.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have the engine oil well taken care of with CI4+ Chevron Delo 15W40. I'm still wondering if synthetic trans fluids would be OK for a truck this old.
