help required please

hi, with 3000 miles since a full rebuild due to gasket failure and no loss of any fluid since then it was running fine and strong but tryed to start it after being stood overnight it is a no go.
engine code 1151 and 1131 flagged up and will not tick-over and gets real hot.
if it is running lean on both banks how on earth does this happen overnight and how do i cure it.
thanks bokker.

bokker,
Sounds like you're not having fun.

Is your coolant level in the tank still at the proper level?
Do you think coolant has leaked (overnight) into one or more cylinders, or do you suspect something else?
If the engine will not turn over when you try to start it, and you do supsect coolant in the cylinder(s), remove all spark plugs and try to start the engine. If it IS coolant, it will blow out the spark plug holes and the engine will spin freely.
(Maybe I'm confused by "tick over". Maybe I'm thinking you me "turn over", but you mean something else.)

Because, if the engine will not "turn over" then you'd never get it running so you would never know that........
You say it runs hot, is this on the temp gauge you see it hot, or is italso "boiling over" hot?
(It wouldn't run hot if it wouldn't turn over when you tried to crank it.)

A lean condition can cause an engine, any engine, to overheat.
Excesive lean can damage pistons, valves, etc.

Give us a little more info. and we'll try to help.

Thanks

hi brian a, sorry for the confusion but i am english and we use different terms, tick-over means idling.
great news, looking thru the forum info i was able to solve my problem.
the pipe from the rocker cover to the manifold was found to have slipped off the rubber elbow and was dificult to see due to it being under the manifold.
thanks for all your help it is much appreciated as there are no specialists in my part of the country.
thanks again. ps. the truck runs fine again.

GREAT NEWS !!
Glad to hear it.
Yes, I saw you live in the UK and thought I might not be certain of the term tick-over.

Anyways, very glad to hear you got your problem fixed.

Just for your info, a cheap fix for that rubber elbow that 90's into the back of the engine is to use the rubber boot off of a old coil wire, it will fit on both ends and is a thinker rubber and will last longer than the factory replacement.

where in the UK are you from?
