82 E-250 Steering Return

I have an 82 E- 250 that I am having touble with the steering. It will not return to center, and especially on curves. It really becomes a problem when I tow my 32 foot camper and an 18 wheeler blows by at about 80 when I am in a curve. I have replaced the king pins, tie rods and drag link, radius arms and bushings and the steering box three times since the original and one of the replacement units was bad. Still no fix. I am having it looked at by a front end mechanic and he says that he thinks this steering gear has a flat spot. I have a replacement coming from NAPA since the old one is still under warranty. I had new rear springs put on about 4 years ago and it seems about that time is when I started having trouble, however, the steering box was bad and it is hard to tell. I have mentioned to the mechanic about possible reduced caster with the new springs since they raised the back up about 3 - 4 inches. He says caster is OK. I have this feeling that the new gear box will not fix the problem and so I will be back to square one. I can't believe all of the boxes were bad, but I am running out of ideas.

Regards,

John

I found out what the problem is. The caster is about at 0 because of the change in rear spring height. I am installing a radius arm kit that allows setting of caster up to I believe 10 degrees. This should solve the problem.
