backfiring

90 F250. 351, E40D. New cap and rotor and wires. Backfires when I lug it down. Was told plug wires are arcing but still does it once in a while. Help?

Backfires or pings? If it's backfiring under load there's a timing problem.

Go out at night with a spray bottle and with the engine running, spray a light mist of water on the wires and see if you have any arcing.
