searched through Canon on print head replacement, looks like you only have to replace head if it becomes physically damaged and unable to correct by self cleaning.

We have an HP 2175 all-in-one (print, copy, scan) and it does an amazing job of printing good quality photos. Heads and tails above the old Lexmark we had. We have 4 kids, so needless to say we do a LOT of printing. The only drawback is if one of the colors dies, you have to replace the whole cartridge. It only has 2 (1 for black and 1 for colors).

Which happened to my Sister's & Dad's Canon Bubbleburst printer's

They were so envious about the jobs my HP's do, they ended up buying an HP as well.

Right now I am using the Hp 4110 all-in-one.

The Hp710 on one computer in the basement & the Other all -in-one ready for the laptop to be hooked up

HP, I should have bought shares

The latest generation of HP office products, specifically all-in-one machines, have some mind-numbing software. I am maintaining two HP office jet machines, the 6210, and my mothers, the 2610, and I have to say they are a little bit complicated. They are jammed with Mega features and I have been trying to figure out how to use these machines for the last 6 months.
As far as the photo-quality on what we use it is good and very acceptable.
Just be ready for the assault on your PC's systems when you install any HP software, make sure your harddrives are free of bugs, and you set a system restore before you start installing. I have always preferred the HP family of printers, I'm no expert, but I have been happy with HP technology.
