92 Explorer & 92 Ranger same starter?

92 Explorer & 92 Ranger same starter?
92 Explorer 2dr 4.0 4x4
My son Explorer has a bad starter and we want to rebuild it and can with the right kit and we did find one for the 92 Ranger 4.0. Do they have the same starter. We really just need the brushes. None of the local shops carry the rebuild kit. But we have a parts catalog for Ranger 86-92 and Bronco II 86-90 but they don't include the Explorer for some reason. We had a 92 Ranger and they seemed to be the same but, are they really?
