Running Poorly
I have a 1986 F-150 with the 351W. I just put in new plugs, wires, cap, rotor and fuel filter. The engine wants to stall out, it is just like it is flooding. I used to live in South Dakota and had no problems but since relocating to southern Missouri I have had these problems. Seems to happen more when the humidity is high. Still runs great in the winter though. any help would be appriciated

your saying the carb doesnt like to be tilted, and the contour of the land you live on is hilly,well if the carb doesnt like to be tilted, does your problem worsen as you go up or down a steep hill?

I live at the top of a hill and when I go to work in the morning the truck almost always wants to die when I turn onto the main road. The main road is relatively flat. After it warms up it runs good until there is a quick change in direction like a sharp turn or a steep hill.

Well , If the problem is happening when you turn or drive on inclines then Id bet you have a problem with the float in the carb . Its pretty clear the fuel level in the carb is less than what it should be & when you make turns or go up or down hills , the engine is starved for fuel . Id suggest a carb rebuild & the float level adjusted properly .
