302 problems
hello. I have swapped out a 300/6cyc for a 302 which came out of a 85 f150 4x4.
now my problem. when I push the 302 past the 4 grand mark. and let off in nuetral she will back fire thru the exhaust.
edelbrok performer intake with a 600cfm holley. have varried the timing from 4 degrees to 8 without any change. changed the main jets from #65's to #62's. seems like it burns rich. waiting on the metering plate from holley. to see if the secondaries are dumping too much fuel.
I also tried holley's spring kit for the secondaries. no improvment.
other than the back firing it runs like a top. the engine was from my brother with 13k miles on it
