Flat beds.
Does anyone here have good pics of some off-roadable flat beds? My bed is shot, its from another year truck and has been painted to match the cab. the paint is flaking, its installed too close to the cab and its straight up ugly. I like the idea of being able to beat on some thick metal rather than bashing sheet metal. Any links to good pictures would also be aprreciated. Thanks alot!

I like this guys, im gonna be doing something similar, only im putting a supercab on my regularcab frame, then ill build the cage/flatbed, with dual snorkle exhaust stacks, an air snorkle up the back, some lights, and tool bins.....it will take some work, but i think it will be worth it in the end....

i have a flatbed on my highboy, its kinda nice cause its big and tough and all, but its kinda a pain, the taillights are always getting screwy cause the wiring is more exposed. you cant walk up and toss stuff in it, which means less room in the cab. and truthfully i dont think that sides help tha much. plus i like the look of an actual box.

Flat beds have there uses and look great, as do boxes. Try this. Cut the sides off a truck box, weld some stakes to the inside and slide them into the flat beds stake pockets (if it has pockets)! You'll have the sides you need for hualing stuff, and you can remove them for wheelin'

Offroadable flatbeds...Depends on what you make them out of and how stout they are. If you make it hella stout w/ steel, youre not gonna maake it far in the mud. For rocks it wont matter as much.
Best option (other than price) is to build it out of aluminum.

yeah, i really like the look of that truck. something about the blue pipes just looks good. but i still think that i would want to stick with a regular bed, but if its beat up like yours, id go for the flat bed
