Morning all. I have a '94 F150 w/5.0. Does anyone know of any performance difference between shorty headers versus equal length tube headers? Looking for more low-end torque. Any recommendations on a manufacturer? I'm also looking at replacing the stock y-pipe with an aftermarket, but was concerned that the "needed" back pressure might be reduced too much. Comments? Last question, does anyone have any experience with replacing the MAF sensor with an aftermarket model? Thanks!

Equal length headers will improve scavenging effects, but if they are of the 4-1 type could reduce low-end torque. Look for a 4-2-1 model instead.

I've heard Doug Thorey recommended here before.

If you are just replacing the y-pipe and keeping the cats, then the backpressure will be fine. If you use an aftermarket y-pipe with an aftermarket cat, the truck will have better high-rpm response. At least mine does, and I have an aftermarket y-pipe with a 3" cat.

Not me, my truck is speed density so it uses the MAP and doesn't have a MAF. Someone else would have to talk to this one.
