My 2000 7.3 has a main seal leak....anybody know or have a rough idea how much it'll cost to repair? thanks for the input.

 

sure its a main seal?? real galley plugs are known for leakin.

down here it would be about $800 i bet. since ya gotta drop the trans.

My front main was leaking and the stealer said, $1500 to remove the motor and do it right or they could try to inject some silicone for $70. No Brainer there. He said the facotory seal is silicone anyway. Well, it has been 2 mo. and over 1000mi. with no leaks. He said it works half the time. Maybe I am the better half

 

Its the rear main seal...could silicone still be used to solve the problem pending how bad the leak is?
