NEED 85 I6 Water Outlet

Just cracked the water outlet on my 85 Bronco I6. Sure wish I could find a thermostat that would last more than 1->2 years. Last year I bought a HEAVY DUTY thermostat from PEP boys for $13. It lasted one whole year.

Anyway I cracked the dam outlet. I'll contact a dealer tomorow. Anybody know if they vary much year to year just in case I have to search the yards for one ????

Regards

Those can be purchased aftermarket if you like. Any parts house should carry them.

It happens to a lot of people. I cracked the one on my 89' last year. Just like the above post mentions, any parts house should have them. It is very common to crack the housing. Many do it. You may want to use a different brand thermostat. I feel that they should last longer than a year of two.

The Ford thermostats are the best for Ford Trucks , Plus they are the only ones that I know of that turn to lock in the thermostat housing on the 300 engine ...makes it much easier when reinstalling them ....& they are cheaper than $13 & last much longer .

Thanks for the response.

I picked one up from a local yard $30.

Ford was $60->70.
