Ok after a long vacation on building my truck due to Iowa weather Im just getting ready to drop the new motor in I need to buy some of the final pieces so I need these codes broke down for me so I know what I have.
I Know the motor is a 302 but what it came out of Im not sure?
Back of the block code FX622025 Now on the right side as if you were in the truck is a stamping of E5AE and below that is C5B or maybe CSB? The Motor has a one piece rear main seal and I need to know what year this is to order my manual flywheel.
Ok Now On To The Tranny I Know its a Borg Warner The code on the left side as you sit in the truck is as follows Im thinking its either a t-18 or t-19
WF 5
3-01-065-907
This engine swap is other wise going well the 300 is out the 302 motor mounts are in and all i need to know is what flywheel i need so I can mate the 2 together. Thank you all for your time. I have the cherry picker untill sat so Im in a bit of a rush for this info
The block cast is 1985 and its from a large car, possibly a police crown vic, which means it has a roller cam and a carburetor, the most ideal combination. I'm also pretty sure its a T18, most T19s went behind the older FE blocks.
Matt,
Thanks for the info man, I was pretty sure it was an 85 but its good to know for sure. Good thing they dont change bell housings very often since I just found out after cleaning mine that it was made in the Fomoco days 64 it looks like heavy thing though should last forever. I do need to get that boot though that surrounds the fork in the bell housing any clue of where a guy can get one? I know LMC has em but I was hoping someone new of a local location in iowa to get them. I went to the local parts store here and they were no help. I will try Ford on Monday if I get home from work in time. Once again thanx for the help.
Call around to a few auto parts stores and find out if they carry Motormite products. They might not make that specific application, but Motormite makes several different linkage boots.
