Joined FTE a while back, never posted before. I'm here in PDX, and I'm restoring a 1951 F6 flatbed. I am doing it in honor of my grandfather. Reason, he had a 1951 F6 at his feed store, and it was the first vehicle I ever drove. I was 12 years old at the time. I also have a picture of myself sitting on the fender of his F6 when I was 2 years old. As such, I have very fond memories of that old truck. The opportunity presented itself to acquire one just like it recently, and I did. As far as I can tell, it only has 18,000 original miles on it. Mechanically it is almost perfect. However, the body does need work. I hope to have it ready for parades, etc., when I retire in 4 years. Sitting in it when I got it home sure brought back happy memories of many years ago. Thanks grandpa! Keep on truckin' up there in heaven.
