I have a B&M Truck Megashifter in my 86 F250, it's still way too short for my tastes. The top of the handle is slightly below the bench seat, although B&M does make an extension to make the handle longer. The installation wasn't too bad, the hard part was removing the existing shifter linkage. PITA to pry the linkage off of the lever. I never did rewire the neutral start switch which no longer fits on the transmission, I just rotated the switch to where it would be if the truck was in Park and zip-tied it to my crossmember. As slow as my truck is, I have no need for a floorshifter on the street. Could shift the column manually just fine. But off-road it gives a lot bigger degree of control, as you only move one gear position with every throw of the shifter. Impossible to miss shifts regardless of how big the bump was that you hit while trying to shift, although a couple times I've gotten carried away and shifted into neutral thinking I had a four speed instead of a C-6.
