Exaust
Hey guys I have a 1984 ford bronco II 4wd withthe 2.8 with 90,000 mile son it. My truck will not pass california smoging this year because since the last time I had it smogged it has started burning a bit of oil. So I set about reducing my emissions in order to meet the smog requirements for this time. My exaust is the original unit and it has had better days. So I was woundering what is the average cost of getting a whole new system installed, or whats the price difference just getting a new cat put in. Ive been told that the older 2.8 have a thing where they clogg up the catalytic converter, so Im hoping with it replaced it will let me pass smog. Any input would be awsome thanks.

That's not a good good exhaust system tho, that's just something with a little more HP.. if you want good, it's gonna cost about $110 for a hi-flow cat and another $100 or so for a muffler, but it all depends on what you're wanting for this. If you're just wanting another OE exhaust system, it is like $80 for the OE muffler, then around $100 or more for the catalytic converter.. and then a little extra for plumbing.
