idle fluctuating- 05 v10
#16
heres the update
this is going in 2 directions so bear with me
1st
they called and said they found nothing for the check engine and idle
go to pick it up and they said well we started it to bring it out of the garage and the check engine light came on-- so we reflashed the computer
its all set
ok what does this mean?
2nd
the vibration--went for raod test with tech
they said the vibration occuring between 40-50 mph is minor and they would have to charge diagnostic time to trace it down
they said they would check tires and rims also
so I go and pick it up
well the tech hit the lift and blew out one of the tires and we checked and
the other 3 tires are show up no good on a road force balance
so we ordered 4 new tires we will put them on and align it next week
my thoughts
I dont see how the vibration that showed up the second I picked it up from the tranny recall has anything to do with tires. I am not a mechanic but I am fairly knowledgable and mechanically inclined-- I had a SD b4 with drive shaft problems and I know what driveshaft vibration feels like
I got under the truck and had a look after the tranny recall was done
what i noticed is grease coming out of the end cap of one u joint all other
end caps dry
and one shiny spot on the drive shaft like a weight was torn off or it was struck with a hammer or dropped who knows-- but I shiny spot sticks out pretty good on a rusty drive shaft -- of course today that spot is rusted over
this vibration I have is by no means real bad but its just the fact that its a
40k new truck and for me my 1st brand new vehicle and it was nice and smooth b4 the recall---Am I over ****?
also there is some play in the wheel now and it is off center a little from them hitting the lift -- I assume this is why they said there doing an alignment
I like the truck but i hate the ford svc.
