351W swap questions

I swapped the 300I6 (carbureted) in my 86 F150 to a 351W HO 4 barrel about 4 months ago. The 351 was gotten in a trade, and it seemed to run ok at first. Now it is dying. BAD blowby, bottom end noise, knocking at high rpm, etc. My idea is to find a low mileage 351 with EFI and install my Edelbrock intake and carb on it. Will this work if I use my carbed distributor/ignition box and install an electric fuel pump? What else will I have to change? Someone told me that the Edelbrock intake won't bolt up to the EFI heads. Is this true? What years of 5.8L motors will work? Thanks for your input.

Get your EFI motor. Use your Daraspark ignition system and Edelbrock intake. As far as the motor's are concerned, the only difference between EFI and carbed motors is the ignition system and the intake system. Block, heads, internals are the same.

I have a set of '87 351W heads (EFI) on my '80 302 which is in my '85 F150.
