Smile Quick EBPV question

Happy new year everyone!
I would like to thank you all for all the great posts, and info.
I installed a "Tymar" intake and was wondering if anyone knows what the sensor that is originally installed in the back of the air box is for? I have a '01 and dont know if this feature is on all years or not.
I this related to the EBPV? I ask because mine tends to kick in and out as you are driving and i dont know if it is normal or not.
The temp today was about 15 deg and I warmed it up for about 5 min, and as I started running down the highway I could hear and tell that it was kicking in and out.
I have a solid winter front on my truck and wonder if disconnecting the ebpv would help. I always plug my truck in the evenings and most of the time when I am at work. Other than straight piping it, my truck is stock with 84000 on it.
You guys and gals are great and I am sure that you have the info that I need!
Thanks sooo much everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello and welcome to FTE, (well 4 posts ago i guess) .... to answer your question...it is directly related to the ebpv, it is one of the control paramaters for it functioning..... the other is the engine oil temp. If the outside air is below 37, then it functions till the engine warms up.... you might want to just disconnect it.... after ALOT of research i have decited to disconnect mine... i live in mass... so it does get chilly... hope this helps!!
