Decent affordable code scanner

I am looking for a functional code scanner that doesn't cost me a lot of money. I would like to spend less than 200 bucks. I want to be able to read why my check engine light is on and be able to turn the light off. I was looking at an Actron CP9135 and thought that that was a pretty good option. I have a Palm and wouldn't mind using that either if I could find a good program and cables for around 200 bucks either. I am leaning towards a selfcontained unit though. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this unit or any other in this price range.
Thanks
Tim

Probably any cheap scan tool will read your codes and clear the light.
If you get something like at http://www.autotap.com/products.html you'll also be able to watch sensors in real time, view freeze frame data etc if any of that is important to you.
A better scan tool may be able to also read ABS, airbag GEM codes etc.

Actron also makes a cheaper one for about $70 that gives off the code itself instead of the the code + description. You have to look the code up in a book.

The biggest thing that I will be using it for right away is to figure out which cylinder is misfiring so I can replace the bad coils instead of all of them at once.
