Flathead Reinforcement

I am wanting to add an Eaton supercharger to my flathead but need to beef up the weak points. Where would you recommend starting? What can be done about only having three mains? How strong are the stock rods?

Thanks

There is a book you can order called Blown Flathead: How to Build a Supercharged Flathead by Joseph P., P.E. Abbin. I ordered this book and it gives alot of info on running forced induction on a flathead 8. Its been a while since I have read the book but if I recall the 48-53 blocks with a mercury 4 inch crank is the best and the stock components would hold up to 7 psi boost. Search for this book and give it a read.

There is a guy in kansas that builds flatheads for super racing, maybe he can help you, try to find him on http://www.racercity.com/members/fan...nt/index.shtml some one there ought to be able to leed you to him if there still isnt an add to him on this site, I raced flatheads in circles for years, they do not take high rpm well at all so dont gear it too low!
