hard start
I finally got a tach... When idling it is consistently at 900 rpm. When in gear (reverse) and foot down of brake it got a consistent 600 rpm. When ebrake was on and no foot on brake it got 700 rpm... What rpm should everything be at.
I belive that i have to rebuild my carb. Even though it has low miles it would only eliminate another problem. I believe i am also going to run another ground from my engine to my fire way. I currently have a ground from frame to engine. and firewall to engine (when i did this one it started better).. I had to use a wire from a starter (only thing they had in) would that work? Im going to run my old starter wire to firewall, i dont think it would hurt it.
I think it would start but it acts like its flooded. Wish me luck guys and if that doesnt work, i dont know what will.
There is a series of problem that have occured if you want to see them check out the thread "will vac leak cause carb backfire" in the 67-72 forum.

When their cold, they've always fired right up with a touch of the key.(hell, sometimes I reach for the key and before my hand gets there, they start up!)
However, when their on the warmed up and I go to start 'em, the battery sounds about dead. And that's when I know their tuned up just right!

I have a pretty big cam so it cant idle at 600 or else it will die. I can try and make a smaller rpm though. Maybe play with it until it is running better somewhere between 600-900 rpm.
Before my problem was a ground. I have a huge ground wire. The only problem was that it was mounted to the frame. I made another ground wire from the engine to the firewall, and then it turned over way better.
My dad is an electrician and he told me that if i mounted a ground wire from the firewall to the frame then the frame will have a better ground. So im going to try and do that so i can get better use out of that 2 or 4 gauge wire i used for a ground.
