cold start
i have a 1997 f150 with 4.2 and 5 speed when the temp. drops below 50 the trck will crank but will not start if i tow the truck it will start is my problem in the computor or is this something i can fix myself

When you say tow the truck, does this mean you are rolling it off and catching it with the clutch? Alot of times when a vehicle sets over night the IAC ( idle air control ) can get stuck causing no start. To see if the iac is at fault, simply hold the gas pedal down some and see if it starts. If it does but dies when you let off the gas, odds are its the iac. Real easy to change on 4.2 motors. If this is not the case and everyting else is in working order, then a PCM update may be needed. A Ford dealership will have to perform this service.
