door locks
Just my luck, search is down and my 2000 PSD door locks are crapping out! The driver door no longer works at all, the passenger door works if you beg it! I remember reading on here about how to change them out and also a link to a aftermarket accuator for the door. Anyone able to help? TIA!!!!!

There is no aftermarket one that I know of for a 99 or newer. If you have the round can style ones there are aftermarket versions. If you are changing out the 99 or newer you need to get a long screwdriver or something like this. Remove the door panel and plastic backing. You can pry the actutator away from its holding craddle and snap the plastic retainier on the actutator. Pull it out and remove the retainer that is left in the holder. Installation is much easier but make sure the retaining clip is locked in. Ford wanted around 50.00 for the actutator.

I just replaced both of mine in my truck, helps with the old man working at the Ford dealership. He was talking with them and they said they redesigned them, since the old ones failed so much. Put both of them in, now when I unlock it, seems like the locks are going to shoot through door, they work great!
