2nd Battery Missing!

2nd Battery Missing!
I went out to check the batterys this morning before a trip and the 2nd battery seems to have dissapeared. Before I hook up the new one; for parallel, hook + to + and - to - to keep it 12 volts with more amp hours?

Battery was only a year old so I just replaced one. I don't know what happened to it. We just bought the 5er in January and I didn't unscrew the battery cover boxes to look at them as, well you know, you kind of expect batterys to be in there on a almost new unit. It was ten months old and a trade in for a bigger unit.
I think that the previous owner must have taken it as they unscrewed every thing else that they added when they bought it, [real cheap].
I'm going to the dealer tommorow and b---- about it anyway.
