Trouble Code P442

Anybody know what this is? My Jeep turned its check engine light on the other day, so I whipped my fancy little scanner and it said trouble code P442, "Evaporitive Emissions System Leak Detected, very small leak"

Not real sure what this is, think its probably the gas cap, if its anything else, its off to the dealer...

Yup,a small evap leak could have been a loose gas cap,or a defective cap.Make sure the seal area of the cap is clean, and the lip of the filler neck.I would clean the cap and neck, clear the code, then road test it.If that doesnt fix it then you will need a more in depth scanner than a codereader

If you saw my Jeep...

picture an 02 Grand Cherokee, with a roll cage on the outside... lifted, MT/Rs, Banks chip, header, and exhaust... next project is a Ford 8.8" rear, D44 front, with lockers.

KT, its not a just codereader persay... its a scanner for all the cars since 1982... I think thats what you mean..
