why do you need to adjust the gate latch if you don't mind me asking? if your latch seems to be sticking, spray some type of lubricant (ie Zep, WD40, PB Blaster, etc) in the latches themselves. hope this helps your problem, if not, describe your problem a little bit more to help us help you, thanx.

mck2000, is your tailgate squeaking? Mine does every time I hit a bump. People walking down the street can hear me coming 2 blocks away. I don't really hear it that much unless my windows are down and the radio is off. There is a rubber bump stop on either end of the tailgate, but I think one of them is smashed in which could possibly be allowing play in the tailgate causing the squeaks. Im not sure if this is your problem, but I thought I would share.
