injector Pump

Does anyone know if an injector pump from a 6.9 will work on a 7.3 . They look and mount the same. I saw one earlier post that said no, but I wanted to double check. Thanks

It will run, probably be underpowered or something. We've tried it the other way around, 7.3 pump on a 6.9. It ran, but smoked just about all the time. We tried backing off the fuel and the smoke got better, but no power.
