always been a leftie; my mom is left handed, dad and brothers are right.(handed)
i play guitar right handed. i decided when i first started playing that if i restrung my guitar and learned leftie, then i could never play anyone elses' guitar. "hey, play something for us!"
"i cant, im really good but i need a left handed guitar."
"suuuure you are! suuuure you do!" makes playing complex chords easier though.
i am a fabricator, and in learning how to build, you have to use your right and left hands. i remember using the table saw for the first time and saying, "why is the fence on the wrong side?" couldnt use it any other way now.

I'm primarily right-handed, but am semi ambidexterous. (Maybe that goes along with the dyslexia.) I write and play guitar right-handed, I hold my fork and eat with either hand, when I'm hammering something I can switch to my left hand if need be to get into spot that I can't hit with my right hand, and so on.
In ancient times, the right was thought to be good and pure, and the left was thought to be evil. The names for right and left were actually Dexter and Sinister. Dexter, the right, for dexterity and Sinister, the left, for evil. This is why so many teachers tried to convert left-handed children to right-handed.
(BTW, Mike...more info gathering, I see. Saw another thread with your name on it about the color of our underwear? Gotta go check that one out next, should be interesting!) -TD
