Nice pics! Last year when I lived in East Boston, my window overlooked Boston Harbor. I took a few shots of some of the large ones, which are probably not quite as large as that one. They barely fit through the drawbridge. The tugs did a great job escorting them through those tight spots! I still haven't developed the pictures...

tug pics
Ford truckin,
I will check and see what pics i have to send to you.
check out www.boatnerd.com for lots of tug pics.
Most of the tugs i work on are named after states.
off topic what size & type Main engine(s) power your boats?
Most of the boats i work on are - GM278A, EMD 498, EMD 567, EMD 645.
most pre or built during WWII.

I, for one, thank you all for sharing the pics!! (I bet down in Texas, they have bass boats bigger than the tanker, though...LOL!) Seriously, I did enjoy seeing the pics of the supertanker and of the tugs as well.
rangersvt04, in your pics of the tugs, why is the stern of the tugs so low to the water? I would really like to know the rationale behind that, if you please.
JR, I also would like to add that I, for one, do appreciate and respect you for working with the Coast Guard. I don't know of anybody who does SAR better than the USCG.
I know you all have worked harder than even usual guarding the seaboards after 9/11.
I just wanted you to really know I truly appreciate what you and the others in the Armed Services are doing to keep us free and safe from cowards!
fordtruckin', I did not know some tugboats were named after states. Do you all operate, or, do you know a tug company that does, a tug Tennessee? We had a battleship in WW II and an Ohio-class boomer named for us. The old BB43 was scrapped in 1959-60. Insofar as I know, the Tennessee boomer is still in service.
At any rate, I sure did enjoy this thread and your posts! Thank you all!

And Loan Ranger, that was probably an Army YTB that was named after your state.
