Hi all, first post...been lurking for awhile and finally decided to sign up since it looks like a very good idea with the support from Jeff and all the expert info from the members.
Had a Q on leases. I havent leased an SUV since 98 (Durango) when the residuals were awesome...mine was 62% on 39 months. I have to think nowadays they are not so good, especially with SUVs since the banks really took it on the chin when these leases expired...
The wildcard I guess would be the diesel, which in the used market do very well. Do the banks reflect that, or is leasing an Excursion Diesel a bad decision?
In the market for new/used lease/buy just has to be a smart transaction.
Unfortunately, Ford bases its residuals on trim level and drve train (2 OR 4WD), not the engine. Residuals on the Excursion are currently in the 43-46% range for 39 months, and rates are running 8.5-9.5%. I'd hate to have to run those numbers, 'cause I can just imagine what the payments would be on a PSD.
eek! No need to run the numbers. I can do those in my head, and they would give me a headache! I will just have to wait out the 15 day and 15 post requirement, and I will have to send you an email on what type of deals you can get on a new or used PSD!
